How difficult is Aeronautical Engineering Compared to other Engineering Courses

Aeronautical Engineering is becoming more popular as compared to other branches on engineering since a wide range of employment opportunities are attached to aeronautical engineering.
Moreover, many students are taking up this course because of the interest in the field of aeronautics. But, many candidates are of the doubt whether aeronautical engineering course would be difficult than other course of engineering.

As far as difficulty level of aeronautical engineering as compared to other branches of engineering is concerned, many experts have different views and some of the views are as follows:

  • Aeronautical engineering is harder than mechanical engineering even though some of the core classes are the same. But, it is easier than chemical engineering.
  • The best yardstick to see which discipline is tougher to learn would be to see the difference in entering and exiting grade point average. Chemical engineering normally has a higher entering grade point average and lower exiting grade point average as compared to other branches of engineering.
  • Some say that all courses are of the same difficulty. But, this fact is not accepted by others. They suggest that the difficulty level of the branch can be judged according to the starting salaries of each branch. According to them, the difficulty level reduces in the order of chemical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, aeronautical engineering, Computer engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering.
  • A lot of physics and mathematics are involved in all the branches of engineering. There is no engineering without mathematics, so every branch requires mathematical skills.
  • If a candidate is good at mathematics and can think deeply, every branch of engineering would be easy for him.

Therefore, in conclusion, the difficulty level differs from one person to another according to their skills.
